Headwaters Men's Ministry

The Headwaters are a source for every naturally flowing waterway. The strength and size of the waterway’s movement is not always determined by its starting point. But the characteristics of the headwaters can have a profound and lasting impact on the rivers, springs, and creeks that they support.

Likewise, men have a very important role in the home, the church, and society. As we can see in scripture it is clear that we are to lead our households and manage them well. We shall love our wives as the Lord loved the church and not be harsh with them (1 Timothy 3:4, Colossians 3:19, Ephesians 5:23) We shall raise up our children without provocation but with discipline and instruction in the ways of the Lord. This will bring honor to you and your family (Ephesians 6:4) We are called to lead in the church. As leaders in the church, men have a great responsibility.

Paul instructed the elders to be mindful of themselves and their flock. Peter also echoed this in saying we shall be good shepherds of the flock under our care, not because we have to, but because we are willing. (Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 5:2-3, Colossians 3:16). As we learn and grow as men. The leadership in the house, and in the church, will provide an example for how we are to lead in our community. We shall manage all that is entrusted to us with happy hearts. Love those around us and lead with humility. In this world where the enemy prowls like a lion. We need to stand ready, be firm in our faith, and be strong in our convictions.  (Colossians 3:12-4, 1 Peter 5:8, 1 Corinthians 16:13-14)

Mission Statement 

The mission of the Headwaters Men’s Ministry is to inspire, equip, and strengthen the men of the River Community Church by providing an example for our families and community by becoming what God has called us to be through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We will seek this out through discipleship, biblical study, and community outreach.
